Oak Park is one of my favorite neighborhood in Chicago. Perhaps because it’s particular of the America Culture, with all these houses in line, in woods.
We went during Christmas and it was covered in snow , with the particular light of this region, we had a good time.

The more I read about him; the more I love him. I can add him in my list of personalities who touched me deepier than the others,

as fellini, Roland Barthes, Deleuze… Maybe because of his madness which propulse him with the greatest architects.

He was so early in his time and probably in our time as well. I cannot understand how we still build houses without interrests whereas him and plenty of genius made great things and had showed the exemple. It was so interesting for me to enter and understand his work. He is one of the character the most important and famous who had lived in the Middle West.

He was really closed to the Art Nouveau Style that I knew well when I lived in Nancy.

I think that his artwork touched me a lot because it’s so closed to the Japanese art as much as for the idea of Nature than for the research of the balance between the elements.

It’s so interesting to recognize  some elements that we can see in the Impressionistes, the taste of the Nature, the light, the play with the differents space and not to forget the field of experimentation by the body.

When you look at the sceau ( his firm above) how can not you think about Toulouse Lautrec, The Artists of the Sécession. All these painters were so influenced by Japanese Art with the same ideology of the Main Nature.

Burnham Pavillon : Close to Millennium Park in this moment , ZAHA HADID shows her Pavillon which play with the City.

Througt diffrents windows we can see some pieces of sky.It’s not really nice at the first glance, but when I was moving inside, raising my head, I was feeling astonished and convinced.  In the same Park , there are Jay Pritzker Pavillon by Frank Gehry, Plensa’s Crown Fountain, the Cloud Gates “Bean” by Anish Kapoor . All of these artworks play with the body motion, giving a range of views, working together.

I wrote an article in FILL-IN about this exhibition by Jean Christphe Ballot calls Paris-Chicago. It was so interesting to see this there. For the more curious people to clink on the link.

We went when Agnès and François were in Chicago.  In the lounge there were an amazing view.  I have nearly fainted  and I may be suffering from vertigo.

John Hancok Center

I was really amazed by  the feeling that I had.  Everyday, I’m surronded by some buildings and it’s already astonishing but being inside it’s so mad. 100 Floors. When we took the elevator , I pained to my ears like  while diving. When I was in restrooms it was still too much stupendous. I would like be able to go often inside to benefit but if I become in yellow everytime  it isn’t worth. It’s a shame but it’s sure I ll come back in.

Galena: you can guess a city drawing for children. That’s all. Many big houses, some pink buses, a very cute station, some green lands. A little too much, false but not really false but like an attraction park clean where all is beautiful, clean, and where all people live happy and have many childs.

The cars, truck is as big as  the house.

Pictures from Galena about architecture.This frame and the four next are pictures that  Baptiste shot. I put them in my blog because I like looking at them.

A big thought about my mother who lives most of the time in Provence. I entered into this store when baptiste took these pictures. I was talking with the the boss and he told me that he bought all of his stuff in France and that he was feeling good in Ohio. His store works good. He retired and he decided to live in America. I bought 2 cards like I fond in Antibes. It was funny to discover it here.

I don’t know if you are going to understand me but this picture is a good example to show the diffrent styles of architectures present in Chicago.  Not only I like this “mess” but I really enjoy to live surronded by these amazing landscapes. I have been amazed since 2 month and I keep going….

It is maybe the ugliest small city that I have never seen but for photography it’s ok. Such an american town… Like some pictures made by kids.
